Swollen feet are one of the common discomforts faced by women during their pregnancy. Also referred to as edema, it is a condition where excess fluid accumulates in the tissues of the body. This can be painful too.

Here are 8 home remedies for swollen feet during pregnancy:

However, the truth is just the opposite. Keeping your body well hydrated will help the body flush out excess toxins and fluid within.

8. Saline Water Soak This is very relaxing. Simply dip your feet in the salty lukewarm water. The home remedy is widely recommended by the older experienced women and midwives. End Note - Swollen feet during pregnancy is a common issue. Women may find this very annoying due to the discomfort and pain that tags along with it. Following some tried and tested home remedies as stated above can help. For severe issues followed fever and other complications, it is important to call the doctor.

8 Most Common Postpartum Body Problems and Ways to Deal | beauty blog usa

8 Most Common Postpartum Body Problems and Ways to Deal

Welcome To 8 Most Common Postpartum Body Problems and Ways to Deal

Giving birth to a baby is a beautiful experience. However, delivery of baby results in several physical and emotional changes. Here are some of the most common postpartum body problems and ways to deal with them:

1. Perineal Pain

Pain in the perineum (region between the vagina and the rectum) is also common. You should consult the doctor to avoid serious complications. Using a soft cushion to sit on will help ease any discomfort.

2. Breast Engorgement

The breast milk increases anywhere between second to the fifth day, post-baby. This will make you feel sensations in your breasts. In many cases, the breast will get full of milk. It might become very hard like a rock and painful. This stage is referred to as engorgement. You can avoid this by feeding your baby in shorter intervals. You may even express milk with a pump until demand supply gets evened out. Using hot towels or ice packs can also help soothe engorged breasts.

3. Sore Nipples

Breastfeeding and constant milk supply will lead to soreness in nipples. This is very common and usually gets resolved within a few days after delivery. Doctors may suggest you apply a nipple cream to soothe the area.

4. Uterus Infection

Sometimes, fragments of the placenta remain in the uterus. Some symptoms include increased heart rate, mild fever, uterus swelling, and even intense lower abdomen pain and uterine discharge. Doctors treat this with antibiotics.

5. Postpartum Depression

Mothers tend to feel overwhelmed with responsibilities and handling a little delicate thing. Anxiety, grief, and feelings of anger are signs of postpartum depression. Most common with first-time mothers, it is possible to get rid of it with the support of your partner, a household help, and family members. Joining a support group or counseling sessions will also help.

6. Hair Loss

A reduced hormonal balance will result in hair loss. Don't worry. This will reduce with time. All you need to do is have a protein-rich diet to keep your hair healthy.

7. Vaginal Discharge

After delivery, many women experience vaginal discharge (lochia) for a few weeks. This contains uterine blood and tissue. You should keep from strenuous physical exertions. Give ample rest to your body. Allow it to heal.

8. Vaginal bleeding

The bleeding will slow down towards the end of two weeks. After this period, the bleeding will get lighter and may continue up to 6 weeks. Make sure you change pads every four hours or earlier to avoid infection. Any recurrent heavy bleeding or clotting (with or without the foul smell) must be immediately reported to doctor.

7 Effective Remedies for Leg Cramps During Pregnancy | beauty blog usa

7 Effective Remedies for Leg Cramps During Pregnancy

Welcome To 7 Effective Remedies for Leg Cramps During Pregnancy

Leg cramps are quite common during pregnancy. Most women experience it in the third trimester. Reports reveal that nearly half of all pregnant women suffer from muscle spasms especially in their legs. These women have also reported that cramping becomes more frequent during the evening.

One of the major causes is excess weight gained by women during this period. The legs carry all of this weight and this overburden cause spasms/cramps. Additionally, changes in body circulation also cause this issue. Other common reasons include pressure from the growing baby that gets placed on the nerves and blood vessels traveling to legs. The growing uterus also adds to the pressure on veins in the leg. Pregnancy hormones and nutrition deficiency are some other reasons.

Luckily, there are a few things that you can do to get relief from leg cramps. Here are 7 effective remedies for leg cramps during pregnancy:

1. Warm water bath

Go for a warm water bath with Epsom salt. This is one of the best ways to ease leg pain effectively. It will relax you and reduces stress levels. At the same time, this bath will also relieve the tension in your muscles.

2. Cold Pack

Wrap some ice cubes taken straight from the refrigerator and apply on affected areas. You may also use an ice pack and apply it on cramped muscle.

3. Get Some ME Time

Are you getting enough ME time? If no, then try to indulge in activities that take away your stress. Read a book or explore creative hobbies. Go for a movie, shopping, gardening, or do anything that keeps you happy.

4. Massage and Stretch

Massaging your calf gently will help. Ask your partner or a professional to give you a soothing massage. Flexing your foot will also give relief. Lift your toes up and push your heel out. Do not point your toe. This can exacerbate cramping and even make it worse. Stand on a hard floor and lift toes to stretch calf muscle will relieve cramping. Make sure you hold onto something for balance.

5. Increase Water Intake

Make sure you drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. Studies have revealed that lack of sodium leads to serious muscle contractions.

6. Apply Heat

Yes, application of local heat will help. Place heated water bags, gel packs or towel dipped into hot water and then squeezed.

7. Practice Yoga

Certain yoga poses are said to help during pregnancy cramps. Try out the hip rotation pose in the second trimester. The modified standing squat pose also helps. These are meant for strengthening muscles and lower body. Make sure you take help of a professional.

How Does Exercise Effect Insulin Resistance? | beauty blog usa

How Does Exercise Effect Insulin Resistance
How Does Exercise Effect Insulin Resistance

Welcome To How Does Exercise Effect Insulin Resistance?

In other words your signals are broken. Your body doesn't receive the message to let sugar in so your body releases more and more insulin because the blood glucose remains high. So what does this all mean when it comes to training?

It is easier than you think to create big issues with your hormones by doing the wrong types of exercises. As women, trying to lose weight we seem to opt for the long bouts of cardio. Trust me, I get it. For years I listened to the "experts" on the internet and people who didn't understand hormonal disorders. I performed workouts that included light to medium weights, full body workouts with no rest periods, instead I jumped around doing plyometrics to "burn fat". I did high intensity metabolic workouts on the days in between, I went low, low carb and higher fat. All I got was inflamed, tired, angry, and no weight loss.

You can absolutely overdo it with the long cardio sessions like running, which can trigger the stress hormone (cortisol) which is what I was experiencing. You have to think about how your body handles stress and if you have any hormonal issues going on then stress is something you want to reduce to decrease the rise in cortisol.

Your body doesn't know the difference between good and bad stress, therefore, exercise can be foreseen as stress. All your body feels is a pounding heart rate, heavy breathing, and anxiety so we have to change what the body is experiencing and turn it into a less anxious event.

This is where walking comes in for a majority of your cardio sessions. I used to think it was the most boring thing I can do until I started really paying attention to getting in a minimum of 10,000 steps a day and saw an immediate difference in my inflammation. It became a game of making sure I hit my steps each day. I used it as a chance to slow down from my normal busy, fast paced schedule, get out in the fresh air, clear my mind, and I really started enjoying these moments.

Walking is a hormone stabilizer and a movement our bodies were meant to do every day.

Weight Training:

Your muscles are the storing house for excess glucose and by increasing your lean muscle mass you help to resolve your insulin issues which results in a healthy body composition. Which translates to a leaner and tighter body- which is the goal here.

But how do you gain more lean body mass? This is where training with weights comes in but I'm not talking about the barbie bells, ladies. Don't be afraid of lifting heavy weights. In order to increase the amount of muscle your body has, then you need to challenge the muscle with weights and the only way to do this is to lift the big weights.

I'm not saying go walk up to the dumbbell rack and grab the biggest weights on the rack; you need to lift what is heavy to you right now. BUT... keep in mind this should be changing each workout. Challenge yourself each workout with pushing one more rep or lifting a little heavier. Your body will respond and you will start seeing some beautiful changes. You must keep in mind that we are trying to keep our bodies calm which means you need to pay attention to your rest periods in between your workout sets as well.

Remember earlier when I mentioned I wouldn't sit still between my sets, instead I would perform plyometric exercises.

Well this is where you need to take 1-2 minutes to rest the muscles. I know it seems boring, it took me a little bit to get used to it, however it serves two purposes. First, you allow the muscles to recover so you can lift heavy at the next set. Secondly, you keep your body calm so it doesn't sense stress and start producing more cortisol.

If you start following the tips I included here whether you have PCOS, Diabetes, Hashimoto's disease, or Menopause - you will start seeing the changes in your body that you are after.

Discover 10 Pregnancy Myths That You Never Knew | beauty blog usa

Discover 10 Pregnancy Myths That You Never Knew
Discover 10 Pregnancy Myths That You Never Knew

Welcome To Discover 10 Pregnancy Myths That You Never Knew

Once pregnant, women have generally advised a list of a specific set of dos and don't by everyone. Interestingly, many of these are simply pregnancy myths.

Here are 10 myths that you never knew and enjoy happy pregnancy:

Myth 1: Really Sick? You may have Twins

Debunked - If you are feeling sick more than usual, it does NOT indicate the possibility of having twins. Sometimes it may be due to higher levels of hormone HCG.

Myth 2: Pregnant Women should not have Seafood

Debunked - Eating fish in good quantity is very good for pregnant women. Seafood is high in omega-3 fatty acids. Having fish low in mercury levels during pregnancy will produce smarter babies. Studies reveal that mothers who ate at least 12 ounces of seafood in a week while expecting had babies with higher verbal IQ. These babies also showed superior social, better motor skills, and communication skills.

Myth 3: Belly Position Determines Baby's Gender:

Debunked - The old wives' tale is not true. Baby's gender has nothing to do with belly positions. Each woman is different and carries her baby differently. Gender of the baby has nothing to do with it.

Myth 4: You are Moodier than Normal for a Reason

Debunked - If you are moodier than normal, it is not because you are pregnant with a girl. This might be excess stress or hormones playing crazy. Meditate and let your doctor know about it.

Myth 5 - It is OK to Have a drink

Debunked - Abstaining from alcohol is a personal choice. However, studies state that drinking during pregnancy increases the risk of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs). Hence, it is advised that pregnant woman should completely abstain from alcohol.

Myth 6: Low Heartbeat indicates it is a Boy!

Debunked - NO! All claims that a baby's heartbeat lower than 140 beats per minute makes it a boy are false. The doctor will let you know the real reason.

Myth 7: You are eating for two!

Debunked - The excess cravings and trips to refrigerators at night are not because you need to eat for two. Pregnant women only need 300 extra calories in a day. So make sure you do not gain more than 25 to 35 pounds.

Myth 8: Heartburn Means the Baby has MORE Hair on Scalp!

Debunked - The hair growth of a newborn baby depends a lot on the genetic make-up of the child, and not related in any way, to heartburn the mother suffers during pregnancy. The growing weight of the fetus often leads to pushing the digestive apparatus upwards towards the cardiac sphincter, leading to acid formation. This is the reason for hyper-acidity and not baby hair. Suffice it to say, many women with terrific heart-burns have given birth to hairless babies, and many women with nay heartburn have had children with heavy hairs on their heads.

Myth 9 - certain types of Foods affect Baby's complexion

Debunked - This is NOT true. There is no science to support this baseless claim. The older and 'wiser' women around you will push you to drink a lot of coconut water or milk dipped in saffron overnight to have a fair baby. However, only the genes play a vital role in determining the baby's complexion. Some may even warn you against having iron supplements as they may make baby's skin dark. However, food or medications do not have any effect on the complexion of the baby.

Myth 10 - Stress is bad for the Fetus

Debunked - Latest research has revealed that a moderate level of stress does not do any harm to the baby. In fact, it is actually good for the fetus! It will tone the nervous system of the feature and speed up its development. Women who have experienced moderate stress during pregnancy have been reported of having 2 weeks old infants with their brains working at a faster speed than those whose mothers did not take any stress. In another study, the 2-year old toddlers born from mothers who took moderate stress were found to have a higher motor and mental development scores.

End Note - It is very common for moms-to-be to fall prey to these silly myths. These should not be paid heed to. Expectant mothers are advised not to give in to temptations of tackling pregnancy myths and consult their doc for right guidance.

How to Live a Healthy Life by Changing Your Habits | beauty blog usa

How to Live a Healthy Life by Changing Your Habits
How to Live a Healthy Life by Changing Your Habits

Welcome To How to Live a Healthy Life by Changing Your Habits

A healthy life is undoubtedly the greatest desire of all of us. After all, without health, life radically changes its meaning. The best way to feel happy, energetic and healthy in the future is to lead a happy, energetic and healthy life in the present. The benefits and pleasures produced are both immediate and long-term.

We are increasingly walking in a direction, where people finally realize that being healthy is much more than just not being sick.

We cannot allow life to pass through us without living it with energy and stimuli that transmit happiness to us. We have to make our lives more attractive and stimulating by simply taking a firm, active and participative stance towards them.

Many times, we are not able to stop the journey of life. Despite this fact, life is also the fruit of our attitudes and behaviors. We are, therefore, the result of our experiences.

How to have a healthy life?

"What needs to be done to be healthy", "how to start a healthy life", or "how to have a healthy and happy life", are questions that people often ask themselves.

Debrucemo, first, on the question:

what does it mean to be healthy? According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is "physical, mental and social well-being, rather than the mere absence of disease". In other words, being healthy is not only the absence of illness, but essentially the physical and mental well-being of the individual. It is no coincidence that the WHO defines health in this way, giving the word a much broader meaning than just the simple antonyms of disease.

Although health appears, of course, to be associated with the word medicine, it goes far beyond the meaning that, many times, common sense attributes to it, associating it only, normally, to curative medicine. Medicine is, however, much more than that, as its major concern is disease prevention.

People's lifestyles, poor diet, stress, among other factors, have contributed greatly to exacerbating the problems. Examples include diabetes and high blood pressure, diseases closely related to the habits of modern populations.

Many of the problems that modern medicine helps to solve could easily be avoided if followed by some of the essentials recommendations to practicing a healthy lifestyle.

Changing habits and behaviors is imperative and urgent. We do not mean by this that we should follow to the letter all the rules for a healthy life, as if it were a hard, painful and even castrating plan for people. Life must be lived with intensity and pleasure, so we must never become mere prisoners to attitudes/behaviours that, although healthier, would be both painful and limiting.

Life is made up of choices. Take your awareness, find the balance between the pros and cons of your personal tastes, towards a healthier life and not forgetting that ultimately it is your quality of life that you want to improve.

We talk about changing attitudes that stimulate us and lead us to happiness, and in this way improve our health condition. It is not always possible, it is true, but in the vast majority of cases, it is perfectly feasible.

As an example, imagine a simple walk in nature or enjoy your favorite piece of fruit. These are two simple examples where it is completely feasible to enjoy life and improve your health at the same time.

Food, physical exercise

Healthy living is also in our hands. Let us not judge that we can eat excessive amounts of sugar every day and that in the event that one day, we will suffer from diabetes it will simply be a matter of fate and bad luck. We cannot judge those who are subject to high doses of stress every day, and we will not persistently pay a high price for it. Let's not think that we can be smokers for years and let's not collect respiratory problems and a degradation of our quality of life.

Our attitudes make us think sooner or later about our health.

Obviously, our attitude to life is a determining factor in making it healthier. Think of life as positive and feel good about yourself before any action.

At least two important things to keep in mind. First of all, nutrition. A good diet can do much more for your health than you think. Nutrition and healthy living are inseparable concepts.

Secondly, physical exercise. This, since it will be done in the right way, can greatly improve your health and well-being, thus contributing to a better quality of life.

Think of physical exercise as something positive and relaxing, not as something hard and "it has to be". Find out which is the activity that you like the most and perceive the benefits that it can provide.

Change only these two factors and discover a healthier life.

If you intend to delve deeper into these and other topics, we encourage you to read on our blog articles related to nutrition and the benefits of physical exercise.

Quality of life

How many of us already feel the discomfort caused by a simple backache. Or you felt the discomfort caused by repeated infections, often caused by the weakening of our immune system.

Many examples we could point out, however, we are all aware that illness or discomfort drastically diminish our quality of life.

Today we live in an era where time has come to dictate the rules. The lack of time leads people to live in a constant race against this precious commodity.

We don't have time to eat well, we don't have time for physical exercise, we don't have time to talk to people, we don't have time for many things that are considered essential in our lives. These behaviors, unfortunately, generate a variety of problems, with serious consequences for our health and well-being.

In the presence of these problems, on the one hand, people are strongly affected in their health, on the other hand, their quality of life is greatly degraded.

In short, we would say that it is not possible to have a good quality of life without having healthy habits.

Healthy longevity

Average life expectancy a few decades ago was substantially lower.

With improvements in living conditions and advances in medicine, it has gradually increased. Still, it is, because we all want to live better and longer.

The current goal is not just to live longer. It is to have a lasting health, that is, to lead an active, healthy, happy and goal-oriented life. However, living longer is not synonymous with living better. The increase in life expectancy often comes at the expense of more or less sophisticated treatments that, despite their effectiveness, greatly damage people's quality of life. We should not only want to live more, but to live better.

Longevity is also in our hands. We believe, evasively, that we must focus our attention on the maintenance of a healthy condition, taking for granted that our attitudes in the present will have a profound impact on our future health.

If you want to live healthier and longer, start taking measures in this direction, that is, measures that are firm, healthy and at the same time contribute to your current well-being.

Benefits of a healthy life.

The benefits of healthy living are countless for people. It will not therefore be necessary to describe them with an extractor, since we all know what is gratifying to feel healthy or, on the contrary, what is painful is to feel sick.

However, the benefits of healthy living don't stop there. Health care costs are increasingly inconvenient for people, either directly or indirectly through their taxes that are channelled to the Public Health Service.

There are studies that clearly show that for every dollar invested in prevention, we can have a significant return on savings with curative health treatments.

In other words, the priority of investment should be channelled to disease prevention. On the other hand, the social and economic costs caused by illness, such as absenteeism from work, are very significant, with increasing expenditure on social protection.

Health & Wellness

It is indisputable that there is today a great interest in curative health, where medicine has evolved, extraordinarily, in recent years. As we have seen, these advances in medicine have undoubtedly brought people a longer life expectancy and a better quality of life.

In the absence of health our whole life is reduced and we cannot, therefore, live it and taste it in its fullness.

We must therefore reflect on our future, because our quality of life will also reflect the way we live today.

Therefore, a new paradigm must emerge, in which the promotion of health and firmer attitudes on the part of people to prevent disease, with enormous benefits for their health, improving their quality of life and well-being. In short, it is intended that each one of us should develop a healthier lifestyle in which health comes first.

For all these reasons, we believe, evasively, that the commitment to the prevention of disease, the promotion of health and well-being, are of paramount importance.

Myomectomy surgery in Nigeria | beauty blog usa

Myomectomy surgery in Nigeria
Myomectomy surgery in Nigeria

Welcome To Myomectomy Surgery in Nigeria by Indian Surgeons

Myomectomy surgery in Nigeria

Prior to the intervention of the expert surgeons of India, myomectomy surgery in Nigeria was performed in the form of open surgery. But with the intervention of the top surgeons of India, laparoscopic procedures were introduced in Nigeria and resulted in the improvement of condition for the betterment of patients. The affordability of the surgical procedures performed by the renowned Indian doctors to remove uterine fibroids made it a preferable option for the Nigerian women. Instead of traveling all the way to India for the surgery, they can now avail the treatment in Nigeria.

With the evolution of surgical interventions where the best Indian surgeons travel to Nigeria to perform the surgeries, better healthcare is easily accessible by the people of Nigeria. The highly qualified Indian surgeons with the use of advanced tools and techniques are now able to provide surgical solutions to them locally. Without the patients having to travel overseas, the Indian surgeons are providing effective care at the comfort of the Nigerian patients. Through different surgical and OPD camps, the best surgeons of India are continuedly delivering quality healthcare solutions to the people in Nigeria.

What is Myomectomy surgery?

Myomectomy surgery refers to the surgery type performed for the removal of uterine fibroids. The general symptoms of myomectomy include heavy periods, irregular bleeding, pelvic pain, or frequent urination. However, Nigerian women seek this procedure to treat infertility issues and issues in conceiving. While gynecology surgery in Nigeria is being performed widely, the knowledge and expertise of the surgeons from India are increasing the success rates of the surgeries.

The Different Techniques of Myomectomy Surgery

There are three different techniques that the expert Indian surgeons use while performing myomectomy surgery. Depending on the number and type of fibroids to be removed, the doctors use the right technique. The three ways of performing myomectomy surgery are:

    Abdominal Myomectomy

When a patient is detected with Intramural or subserosal fibroids that are large in number or size, the surgeons perform abdominal myomectomy. Being a major surgical process, the experienced surgeons of India carefully make an incision on the lower abdomen and remove the fibroids from the uterus walls. Women having very large fibroids or many fibroids are the right candidate for abdominal myomectomy.

    Hysteroscopic Myomectomy

When a woman is detected with submucous fibroids in the uterine cavity, the doctors recommend them to undergo hysteroscopic myomectomy. This type of gynecology surgery is performed with the use of a hysteroscopic resectoscope. The medical instrument is passed into the uterine cavity through the vagina and cervix, and the fibroids are removed. Generally, this is the most preferred mode of surgery as it involves no scars. However, the employement of the procedure depends upon the size, number and site of the fibroids.

    Laparoscopic Myomectomy

Laparoscopic myomectomy is another popular type of surgery that is performed by the top surgeons from India. Laparoscopic myomectomy is recommended for the women who have been detected with a smaller number of subserous fibroids. With tiny incisions, the surgeons easily remove the fibroids and help in providing faster recovery to the patients. For the Nigerian women laparoscopic myomectomy is a better option as it assures faster recovery, lesser hospital stays and minimal scarring. The chances of complications are also little to none.

The Preparation for Myomectomy Surgery

On being detected with uterine fibroid, the doctor may prescribe you certain medications before undergoing surgery. The prescribed medicines help in reducing the size of the fibroids, making them easier to be removed. Before the surgery, you may need to undergo certain tests, including blood tests, MRI scans, electrocardiograms, and pelvic ultrasound. These reports help the surgeon to ensure better success.

The Recovery Process of Myomectomy Surgery

The recovery duration differs depending on the type of technique used for conducting myomectomy surgery. While laparoscopic myomectomy takes two weeks to four weeks for recovery, undergoing hysteroscopic myomectomy will take only two to three days to recover. The abdominal surgery in Nigeria takes the longest time to recover, which is about four weeks to six weeks.

While you may experience some discomfort and pain after the surgery, taking the recommended medications help in easing the pain. Doing strenuous exercises or lifting heavy objects must be completely avoided until the complete healing of the incisions. Through successful surgeries, the Indian doctors help in removing the fibroids and giving the women of Nigeria an opportunity to become pregnant safely.

The Success Rate of Myomectomy surgery in Nigeria

After undergoing the gynecology surgery in Nigeria, the chances are very high that women will get relief from heavy bleeding, pelvic pain, and other symptoms. The intervention of the qualified surgeons of India has increased the success rate of such surgeries in Nigeria even more.

The likelihood of pregnancy after the surgery depends on the number as well as the type of fibroids present. The women of Nigeria, who have successfully removed more than six fibroids, have more chances of getting pregnant. As the procedure may weaken your uterus, the Indian doctors will recommend a cesarean delivery in order to prevent any complication.

For all the women in Nigeria having uterine fibroid, undergoing myomectomy surgery performed by the Indian specialists can help in removing the fibroids and providing relief. Depending on the type, size, and location of the fibroids, the best doctors of India will perform the appropriate surgery in Nigeria for optimum outcomes.

4 Things Mature Women Should Avoid | beauty blog usa

4 Things Mature Women Should Avoid
4 Things Mature Women Should Avoid

Welcome To 4 Things Mature Women Should Avoid If They Want To Control Their Blood Pressure

 Avoid Junk Food

Believe it or not, junk food is not a staple just for kids. Mature women also love candy, cake, fries and soda. Unless they are on a diet, many women feel it is okay to eat whatever they want because they are older. They have reached a point in their lives where they feel they have earned the right to eat whatever they want. However, once we are post-menopause, the importance of a healthy diet and weight maintenance increases. Generally speaking, women gain weight after menopause. This weight gain often leads to hypertension. While totally eliminating your favorite sweets might be tough, reserving the pies and cakes as an occasional treat is in your best interest if you want to control your blood pressure.

    Choosing Price Over Nutrition

Many times when we are in the market we reach for the items that are the least expensive without regard to their nutritional value. While this strategy might be right for our pocket, it reeks havoc on our overall health. Always try to buy the best quality you can afford. Try to buy organic, if possible and whole foods. If you are worried about your budget, check out stores like Walmart that are now trying to stock healthier organic options at reasonable prices.

Also try to avoid convenience food options. Soup has always been considered an inexpensive healthy food option. However, most canned soups and even pre-made soups in the Deli section of the supermarket can contain a ton of sodium, some with upwards of 1000 mgs! Look for lower sodium options, or better yet, make homemade soup from whole ingredients. That way you can control what's in it, including amount of sodium.

Buying something without reading the label first.

When buying goods outside of fresh foods, always check the number of ingredients. The more simple the ingredients, the better. Also look at the type of ingredients. For example, if you pick up a jar of tomato sauce and the first two ingredients are tomatoes and sugar, a better option might be a sauce with tomatoes and olive oil as the first two ingredients and leaving the sugar out altogether.

    Avoid sugar sweetened beverages.

While it is not surprising that excessive fructose in your diet can lead to obesity and in turn high blood pressure, what you might not know is that excessive sugar can directly cause hypertension. A study published in the December 2019 Journal of the American Heart Association found that there was a correlation between sugar sweetened drinks like soda and an increase in blood pressure. Interestingly, the study also found that sugar from natural sources like fruit, however, might not have a detrimental effect on your blood pressure. So instead of reaching for that orange soda, reach for an orange to quell your sugar fix.

Understanding Vaginal Yeast Infections | beauty blog usa

Understanding Vaginal Yeast Infections
Understanding Vaginal Yeast Infections

Welcome To Understanding Vaginal Yeast Infections

Yeast infections are uncomfortable and itchy and many people don't like talking about them. They are quite common among women. Around 75 percent of the women will have a yeast infection once in their life. A smaller percentage may get recurring or multiple cases.

Yeast infections can occur at any time and to anyone. There are some things that may make one more prone to getting them. Such infections can be cleared easily and quickly.

How it happens

In the vagina, there is a lot of yeast and bacteria that has to be kept at very healthy levels. Due to the presence of estrogen, lactobacilli bacteria can grow. This is a bacterium that may end up killing organisms that are meant to help the vagina and keep it in a healthy balance. If this balance is ripped, Candida, the fungus grows way out of control, leading to the development of yeast infection.

What are the causes of such infections?

There are very many reasons why someone can get this kind of infection. They include:

Hormones: when you are pregnant, hormonal changes can cause the problem. Menopause, breastfeeding and the use of birth control pills can also change your vaginal balance.

Diabetes: this is another cause of the yeast infections. If diabetes is not controlled as it should, then the mucus membranes get more sugar and this creates a great environment for yeast to thrive.

Antibiotics: these drugs tend to kill lots of bacteria that live within the vaginal and therefore may throw you off balance and lead to the development of the infection.

Vaginal sprays and douching: using these kinds of products, especially when they are scented is not recommended. The vagina maintains its own balance and rarely needs such things. The products can cause a change in the balance, leading to infections that could have been avoided.

Weak immune system: for people who are HIV positive or people with any other kind of immune disorder, suffering from yeast infection can be very common. This is why it is important to get further testing, especially when the yeast infection keeps on recurring or doesn't respond to medication.

Sex: in most cases, yeast infection is not listed as an STI. However, it is important to note that it can be transmitted to other people when you make sexual contact. It is therefore important to be open about your condition and receive treatment as soon as possible.

Symptoms

The main symptoms of the infection are discomfort and itching. There are however some more signs that you can get in case you have it. They include:

• Redness, swelling, or burning of the vulva and vagina. The vulva is the outer part of the genitals of a woman.

• A discharge that is white and thick, very similar to cottage cheese

• Painful sexual intercourse

• Burning or pain as you pee

If you suspect that you could have an infection, it is always recommended that you see a doctor as soon as possible. Refrain from treating yourself. It is important to note that the above symptoms are not limited to yeast infections. There are many others that can present themselves in this way and only a test can give the real picture. When you get a proper diagnosis, you will get better treatment.

There are many ways you can pursue so as to get rid of an irritating yeast infection. Yeast infection treatment is a natural way in which you can handle the condition and have it clear within a very short time period.

Fibroid Tumour - Powerful Natural Remedies Revealed | beauty blog usa

Fibroid Tumour - Powerful Natural Remedies Revealed!
Fibroid Tumour - Powerful Natural Remedies Revealed!

Welcome To Fibroid Tumour - Powerful Natural Remedies Revealed!

Among the most painful and dangerous of female disorders is the fibroid tumour of the uterus. In part, the danger is psychological rather than physical. The increased incidence of cancer together with a wide publicity campaign has made the public highly cancer-conscious. For this reason, the discovery of almost any tumour on the body will generally strike terror into the heart of the strongest person. Thus the relatively common fibroid tumour which attacks the uterus is often mistaken for a malignant tumour (cancer), and the resultant shock is almost as destructive as the growth itself.

Since the possibility of cancer always exists where an unnatural growth is discovered, it is important that the patient be immediately examined. Time is essential, since medical science has made great strides in the treatment of cancers which have been detected in an early stage.

Learn these signs of possible cancer by heart:

Constant bleeding despite efforts to staunch the flow.
Repeated and severe attacks of indigestion.
Sudden growth or change in shape of a mole, birthmark, etc.
    Discolouration of stool (bowel movement).
Painful or sore lump or spot on or beneath the skin which refuses to heal.

As for the- fibroid tumour of the uterus, this may be the size of a pea or smaller and may grow to the size of a lemon or larger. Though it originates in the uterus, the tumour may grow into the uterine cavity during its maturation.

As the tumour develops the uterus becomes knobby and enlarged. Pressure of the growth upon the bladder may bring pain and increased urination. Conversely, fibroid tumours often induce constipation through pressure upon the rectum. Haemorrhage is a frequent tumour warning. The existence of a fibroid tumour within the uterus is often a cause of natural abortion (miscarriage).

Such growths were treated through natural baths, diet, wet wraps and therapeutic gymnastics. A daily lukewarm (77° to 82°) bath was prescribed with cold compresses to be applied to the vagina at bedtime. Sexual intercourse and other activities which might aggravate the condition were strictly forbidden. As in most instances, my regimen for fibroid tumours also involved the Return to Nature Diet. A half pack (abdomen to feet) was applied for one hour each day and thigh and spinal douches (pressure baths) were prescribed three times weekly.

Exercises (therapeutic gymnastics) were provided for the patient, though sports which provided entertainment and a lift to the morale were always preferred to ordinary exercise.

Thus, while the bicycle exercise (in which the patient lies upon her back and lifts the body from the waist, propelling the legs as though bicycling) proved effective in treating tumours of the uterus, actual bicycling was encouraged. In like manner, if the patient acknowledged a fondness for rowing, this sport was prescribed rather than a similar exercise such as sit-ups (in which the patient lies flat, hands locked behind head, and lifts and lowers the body from waist to head without shifting the feet).

Other exercises recommended were trunk turning (from an upright position, hands behind head, the body is twisted from extreme right to extreme left and back again without moving the feet); full knee bending, toe touching and the scissors exercise (from prone position raise legs and then move slowly apart and together as though a scissors).

Since fibroid tumours may exist for many years without making themselves known to the patient, and since tumours of the uterus are particularly common among women at the menopause (change of life), it would seem a wise precaution if every woman adopted much of this programme from the age of forty on-wards.

Women's Matters - Handling Vaginal Odour
Women's Matters - Handling Vaginal Odour

Welcome To Women's Matters - Handling Vaginal Odour

Our private parts are not something we talk about much. Especially in social media. However vaginal odour can be something that can occur for any number of reasons and when it does it can be very embarrassing. The fact that it's a bit of a taboo subject makes it hard to find advice when you need it. It's often easier to turn to the internet and become misinformed as to what is actually happening 'down there' so let's start out by saying if you can sense an odour or suspect something is wrong you should seek help from a doctor and more specifically a gynaecologist. Medical professionals are trained in these areas and will not judge or condemn you for something which they know a lot of people experience.

Let's begin by saying that there is meant to be a certain smell of being a woman. It becomes an issue when the smell increases more than normal or there is a big change in the way it smells. Menstrual cycle can be one thing that changes the type of odour as can perspiration and a change in diet. It could be that you have a yeast infection or an overgrowth of bacteria. These issues are more common that you may think.

One in three women experience these kind of problems so it's quite common. Over growth of bacteria happens when the PH level in your vagina isn't right and it then promotes bacterial growth. The smell isn't the only symptom you may experience when things are not what they should be. It may be accompanied by itching, burning, increased discharge or other irritation.

If the doctor says that you are all clear but you are still getting a strong smell during your menstrual cycle or after sexual intercourse there are some natural ways you can get rid of the smell. First watch what you are eating. Sugar isn't good for us and can also cause vaginal odour as it can feed the bacteria and increase your symptoms. You need to increase your probiotic intake which will help to increase the good bacteria and take an antibiotic to kill the bad bacterial. Probiotics may also help keep you PH levels.

Another way to help stop the odour is to take a bath in apple cider vinegar. Add about two cups to the bath and soak in it for 30 minutes. Remember to take a shower afterwards to remove the vinegar from your skin. You can also drink two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar diluted in water daily. The apple cider vinegar is antiseptic and antibacterial and it restores the acidity of your vaginal flora.

Tea tree oil is another good product to assist you as it has strong anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. Studies show that tea tree oil can kill Trichomonas vaginalis cells which are sexually transmitted and caused by a one cell protozoa organism. Tea tree oil will also help you with yeast infection. You must dilute the oil with coconut oil and apply it to an organic tampon as it is too strong for the sensitive vaginal lining. Alternatively you can put 10 drops into a bath and soak for half an hour.

Either way it is important to stop the odour and make sure your organs are healthy. Candida and vaginal infections not only make us feel uncomfortable but affect our sex life and can infect your partner depending what type of issue you have. It is your responsibility to keep your partner safe from infections and if you don't you can set up a cyclic issue where you keep re-infecting each other. Some contagious sexual illnesses are also punishable by law if you infect someone else in some circumstances. So be responsible for your sexual health, your vaginal health and you will find vaginal odour will no longer be an issue

Should Women Avoid The Keto Diet? | beauty blog usa

Should Women Avoid The Keto Diet?
Should Women Avoid The Keto Diet?

Welcome To Should Women Avoid The Keto Diet?

The Keto Diet has become quite a popular topic in the fitness community. It has been found to aid in the loss of weight and lowering the inflammation in the gut. New research has shown positive effects for both men and women adhering to a keto style diet.

What is the Keto Diet?

First, a keto, or ketogenic diet, is designed to keep your body in more of a ketosis state. Ketosis is not abnormal. It is a state where your body is low on carbohydrate fuel. When this occurs, it starts to burn fat, rather than the carbs. The process produces ketones. The average person does not stay in a ketogenic state except during heavy exercise, such as CrossFit, or during pregnancy.

A ketogenic diet promotes very low carbohydrate and higher fat intake. The body will in turn, use fat to produce energy. This diet has also been shown to decrease autoimmune diseases, endocrine diseases, and also has cancer fighting properties.

Ketosis can be an issue with diabetics. This can occur if not using enough insulin.

How does Keto benefit CrossFit athletes?

As stated earlier, a ketogenic diet helps to burn fat, thus losing weight. This low carb diet is similar to the Paleo Diet. We are a strong proponent of Paleo because it promotes higher protein for fuel instead of carbs. As we stated earlier, the keto diet uses fat rather than protein for fuel. A keto and paleo diet both burn fat while maintaining muscle.

An athlete exercising at a high level, such as CrossFit, will see increased energy and fat loss, without decreasing muscle mass.

Why is the Keto Diet good for women?

The benefits of being a woman on this diet are surprisingly good. In addition to the weight loss and muscle gain, a keto diet has an amazing way of helping the endocrine system. We all realize the effect hormones have on the woman athlete.

Fluctuating hormones can cause pain, fatigue, and even depression. The link between hormones and cancer cannot be denied. A keto diet has shown to better regulate the endocrine system. By doing this, it decreases the incidence of some cancers, thyroid disease, and diabetes.

How does a women initiate a keto diet?

Slowly and carefully. A keotgenic diet should not be started at a full 100 percent. You should slowly decrease the amount of carbs you consume. Cutting the carbs too quickly can actually have a negative effect. It can stress the body and confuse it, thus causing a wild imbalance.

Also, if pregnant or nursing, you should not use a keto diet. During this period, eat a well-rounded diet of fruits, vegetables, dairy, and grains.

My best advice, get your body as stable as possible, and then slowly incorporate a ketogenic diet.

How to Be Sure in Choosing the Right IVF Clinic in Chicago for Yourself? | beauty blog usa

How to Be Sure in Choosing the Right IVF Clinic in Chicago for Yourself?
How to Be Sure in Choosing the Right IVF Clinic in Chicago for Yourself?

Welcome To How to Be Sure in Choosing the Right IVF Clinic in Chicago for Yourself?

If you are having some problems with conceiving and have decided to visit a fertility clinic, you are sure to find a multitude of IVF Clinics in Chicago to choose from. You need to make sure that you are choosing the right one. The question is, how do you do that?

Selecting the best infertility clinic
If you have made the bold and brave decision to go to an infertility clinic for help, you need to first find one that has a good reputation. Research and gather as much authentic information about their success rates. In this time and age, you should also confirm if the infertility clinic offers the services and technology you're looking for.

Apart from that, you must look into other considerations.

1. Communication of the clinic's team
One of the main factors that will surely convince you that you have made the right choice of selecting that IVF Clinic in Chicago, is when the communication of the entire team is good. If the communication is well and strong between you and the team, you are likely to feel more confident with your doctor and the treatment prescribed.

2. Ranges Of Procedures For Diagnosis
During your hunt on finding the right IVF clinic, one of the things you should consider is that the clinic must offer all ranges of tests required to make an accurate diagnosis. Only when the correct diagnosis is found, the treatment will work. Inquire at the potential clinics if they offer the services of a hysterosalpingogram (uterine X-ray), hormone tests, sperm function tests, and detailed scans. Will they look at X-rays performed at other clinics?

3. Counselling sessions
You do not only need your selected IVF Clinic in Chicago to offer you treatment services, but also some counselling therapy sessions. You are already facing bouts of uneasiness and apprehension about the whole process, treatment, and the successfulness of it. It would be nice to have someone you could talk to, to vent out all your fears. The counselor at these clinics can offer their professional advice and guidance. They can help you feel more relaxed and comfortable, which is what you need to be during the course of your treatment.

4. Choice of all treatments presented
The other factor that you need to consider is the array of fertility treatments that must be offered by an IVF Clinic in Chicago. During your infertility consultation at the clinic, inquire all about the comprehensive ranges of treatments. Don't just choose a clinic that only offers IVF as the only treatment for infertility. You should also be satisfied that the clinic offers the specific treatment for your requirement. If in case the treatment fails, will they offer you an explanation?

5. Cost Of The Entire Treatment Taken By The Clinic
Apart from the prescribed drugs, the cost of the entire IVF cycle should include everything, from the additional consultations to the extra ultrasound examinations. Some clinic has a habit of billing these extra costs exclusive of the IVF treatment. Make sure that your desired clinic does not overcharge as compared to other clinics.

6. Evaluating the clinic's printed results
When narrowing down your potential IVF Clinic in Chicago, you must also consider all of their published results. Spend some good amount of time in analyzing their cases and its success rates. Study those cases related to your situation and find out the success and failure rate of that clinic. The results will automatically point out if you should consider that clinic as your best option.

How to Lose Weight During Peri-menopause | beauty blog usa

How to Lose Weight During Peri-menopause
How to Lose Weight During Peri-menopause

Welcome To How to Lose Weight During Peri-menopause

It's no secret most women struggle with putting on extra, unwanted pounds as they approach "the change". This issue leads women desperate to figure out how to lose weight during per-menopause.

Weight gain is probably one of the more annoying problems premenopausal women face. Besides not being able to fit into your old clothes, you have all that extra padding where you didn't have it before. With all that you're going through, the last thing you need is to have to go out and buy an entirely new wardrobe...

But never fear, today I have a super simple diet trick guaranteed to help you shed pounds.

Not only that, but do this one thing, and you'll not only lose weight, but you will also help get those fluctuating hormones back on track.

Its' a win-win!

How to Lose Weight During Perimenopause

I should provide a disclaimer, though. If you have thyroid issues, then your condition is a bit more severe and this one trick may not be enough...

Don't worry- I'm not going to tell you to join some expensive and difficult to follow diet program like Jenny Craig. And I certainly don't want you to go out and buy a bunch of processed and tasteless low-fat foods.

Do this one thing and you'll still be able to enjoy a whole range of yummy and rich tasting foods. You won't feel deprived and you'll still be able to shed a chunk of that extra weight.

So you want to hear what my trick is?

Don't eat sugar.

That's it. Don't do it.

Remove sugar from your diet and you will see that weight just slide off. More than that, eliminating sugar will go a long way in balancing out those unstable hormones.

How so?

Because sugar is one of the major contributors to hormone imbalance- specifically hormone imbalance due to estrogen dominance.

Estrogen dominance refers to the condition where you have an abundance of estrogen and not enough progesterone. It is one of the leading causes of severe premenopausal symptoms and can make life a living hell for some women. A number of factors contribute to estrogen dominance including stress and toxin exposure. But one of the worst culprits is our modern Western diet. And one of the worst foods that aggravate estrogen dominance? You guessed it: sugar.

Eating sugar causes your cortisol levels to rise, which in turn causes your estrogen to go up. Once your estrogen levels go up, your progesterone levels go down.

So not only does sugar help you pack on the pounds, it also messes with your hormones big time.

If you want to know how to lose weight during perimenopause just give up sugar. It really couldn't be simpler than that.

I realize giving up sugar isn't all that easy. It is highly addictive after all.

And it's hidden in a TON of our food.

But if you can, eliminate or at least reduce sugar from your diet and you will see a remarkable change in your health.

When a women doesn't want to carry the pain of motherhood

While being a mother is a lifelong dream for any women on this planet, there are still those which don't want to bear that pain in the process. These women often belongs to the Celebrity category or some big name in the corporate world and due to their hectic schedules and busy lifestyles, cannot afford to take an off for 9 long months from their daily routines. Surrogacy comes as a tailor made option for all such women and provide them with an option of being called a mother, without feeling any pain in the process. Homosexuality isn't a new thing to this world now and it's visible across every part of the planet in the current context. Even though the couples stay Homosexual, their desire to have a child doesn't vanish and this is where having a baby through Surrogacy is the best option available to them. During this process, the Surrogate mother gets Inseminated with the semen of one of the Intended parents (In case of Men) and she then carries the child for the next nine months till its birth. Here, the Surrogate will be the Biological mother of the child while the couples will be the Intended parents.

Moreover, when it comes to the same sex parenting in case of Women, the couples have two options. Firstly either one of the women can decide to give birth to the baby by getting a surrogate male's semen to be inseminated into her Uterus, or they can get the whole process done with the help of a surrogate father and Surrogate mother altogether.

Costs Involved

It really matters whether the Surrogacy arrangement has been made between the Intended parents directly with the Surrogate or if there's an agency involved in between. In both the cases, the Intended parents need to take care of all the costs and expenses incurred surrogate mother for the next nine months period. Even if there's an agency involved within the process, the Intended parents need to bear the expenses paid to the Surrogate mother along with the commission charged by the Agency.

We are a family of professional yoga teachers and practitioners from different parts of the world. We offer best yoga teacher training course, registered with Yoga Alliance USA.

Yoga is the science of right living and, as such, is intended to be incorporated in daily life. It works on all aspects of the person: the physical, vital, mental, emotional, psychic and spiritual. The word yoga means 'unity' or 'oneness' and is derived from the sanskrit word yuj, which means 'to join'. This unity or joining is described in spiritual terms as the union of the individual consciousness with the universal consciousness. On a more practical level, yoga is a means of balancing and harmonizing the body, mind and emotions. This is done through the practice of asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha, shatkarma and meditation, and must be achieved before union can take place with the higher reality.

Hatha Yoga in Rishikesh

"Hatha" truly implies compel and is gotten from Sanskrit words "ha" implies sun and "tha" which means moon. Hatha yoga thusly means rehearse that brings the union of sets of the inverse. Hatha yoga practices are designed in a way so that yoga practitioners can align and calm their body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation. Our Yoga school provides the best Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh.

There are many branches of yoga: raja, hatha, jnana, karma, bhakti, mantra, kundalini and laya, to name but a few, and many texts explain them in detail. each individual needs to find those yogas most suited to his or her particular personality and need. In the last half of the twentieth century, hatha yoga had become the most well-known and widely practised of the systems. however, the concept of what constitutes yoga is broadening as more people take it up, and this knowledge is spreading. In the ancient texts, hatha yoga consists of the shatkarmas, cleansing practices, only. Today, however, hatha yoga commonly embraces the practices of asana, pranayama, mudra and bandha as well.

History of yoga

The yoga we know today was developed as a part of the tantric civilization which existed in India and all parts of the world more than ten thousand years ago. in archaeological excavations made in the Indus Valley at Harappa and Mohenjodaro, now in modern Pakistan, many statues have been found depicting deities resembling Lord Shiva and Shakti performing various asanas and practising meditation.

These ruins were once the dwelling place of people who lived in the pre-vedic age before the aryan civilization started to flourish in the Indus subcontinent. According to mythical tradition, Shiva is said to be the founder of yoga, and parvati, his first disciple. lord Shiva is considered to be the symbol or embodiment of supreme consciousness. parvati represents supreme knowledge, will and action, and is responsible for all creation. This force or energy is also known as kundalini shakti, the cosmic force which lies dormant in all beings. Parvati is regarded as the mother of the whole universe.

The individual soul is embodied and bound to the world of name and for, and also liberated from the bondage of the world and united with supreme consciousness through her grace. Out of love and compassion for her children, she imparted her secret knowledge of liberation in the form of tantra.. Tlhe techniques of yoga have their source in tantra and the two cannot be separated, just as consciousness, shiva, cannot be separated from energy, Shakti.

The hatha yogis, however, found that certain specific body positions, asanas, open the energy channels and psychic centres. They found that developing control of the body through these practices enabled them to control the mind and energy. yogasanas became tools to higher awareness, providing the stable foundation necessary for the exploration of the body, breath, mind and higher states. For this reason, asana practice comes first in hatha yoga texts such as Hatha Yoga Pradipika.
